Emergency Action required: Call your Chicago city alderman NOW!

Posted by Mitchell - May 5, 2004 (entry 179)

A CAN TV funding initiative is now before the City Council. It was introduced this morning by Bernard Stone. Check it out.

The good news is that this proposal would fix the CAN funding problem once and for all. We have to fight hard and fast, but this is a winnable fight -- if we act now. Chicago residents: Please take a few minutes if you would to call your alderman immediately and encourage her or him to support the May 5th Stone ordinance which would give to CAN TV one-fifth of the City's franchise fee.

(Look, Mom! I didn't mention Michael Moore at all in this post.) :-)
