One Year Later...

If Chicago Media Action can be said to have a birthday, it would be today. One year ago today, the gauntlet was thrown.

At the risk of getting sued by Time-Warner (which holds the copyright on the song), let's sing: o/~ Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you o/~

For those of you unfamiliar with the background, CMA is the result of a fiasco that took place at the Chicago Media Watch conference on November 2, 2002. For more details, read this and this.

CMA has accomplished a lot (just read the list of accomplishments on the About CMA link on the right hand side), and we've been part of a growing movement that in just a year's time has put itself on the map as an issue in popular American discourse.

There's a lot more to come. There's this wee conference in Madison next weekend, among many many other things planned. We encourage you to get involved in CMA's work.
