CMA in FAIR's Extra, NOI deadline, Viacom fines

Posted by Mitchell - October 22, 2004 (entry 244)

We are pleased to report that an article by two CMA members about our noted WTTW study has been published in the October 2004 issue of the magazine "Extra", published by the national media group FAIR. Pick up a copy today. We have a PDF version of the article available here.

Incidentally, the extended deadline for the FCC's Notice of Inquiry on localism in media is November 1, 2004. If you haven't already done so, you might want to file your comments soon.

And the Washington Post reports that Viacom and Disney have been fined a combined $1.5 million regarding violations of excessive advertising on children's television. I bet though that the amount of money Viacom and Disney got from excessive advertising far exceeds the fine.
