CHICAGO MEDIA ACTION ELECTRONIC ALERT: August 14, 2003 http://www.chicagomediaaction.org *** *** *** *** *** *** *** Save the date: Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003. Chicago Media Action will be screening another important film WTTW refused to show--"AfterMath: Unanswered Questions about 9/11." With the ongoing confusion and questions about the federal probe into the events of September 11, 2001, the Guerrilla News Network (GNN) decided to produce their own version of a "truth commission." Narrated by Hip Hop legend Paris, presented in an engaging hip-hop video format, and featuring interviews shot by GNN syndicate producers in six cities, "AfterMath" features nine people answering eleven of the most pressing questions that emanate from the terrible and, as yet, unexplained events of that day. As you will see, these are questions that continue to overshadow and critically challenge the official "version" of the story. They include: * The negligence of military officials in their reaction to the hijackings * Proven links between the hijackers, Pakistani intelligence, and the CIA * The role of oil in the Eurasian conflict * The impact of post-9/11 legislation on American civil liberties Cliff Kelley will be your host for the event. Cliff Kelley of radio station WVON (AM 1450) and is a popular talk show host who brings a wealth of knowledge on local, national and international affairs to his audience. A native Chicagoan and attorney, Kelley has been active in Chicago's political arena for more than 30 years, including 16 years in the Chicago City Council. Kelley has been the host of WVON's popular morning drive talk show "The Cliff Kelley Show" for more than six years, and also hosts V103FM Sunday mornings from 6AM to 8AM. He makes many guest appearances on issue-oriented programs on both local and national television, and is a frequent contributor to WTTW's "Chicago Tonight." He has traveled extensively, including trips to the Middle East, Asia, Europe and Africa. Chicago Media Action is currently organizing the event, with a projected 5:30 pm start time on September 11, and an anticipated downtown Chicago venue. We will of course pass along full details of the screening once we have details finalized. *** *** *** *** *** *** *** This is an alert from Chicago Media Action, a Chicago activist group devoted to media issues.
